Software tools enable on-device voice control
NXP Semiconductors’ Voice Intelligent Technology (VIT) Library is a local voice control software package with a companion online training tool. Based on deep learning and speech recognition, the library provides a far-field audio front end supporting up to three microphones, an always-on wake word engine, and a voice command engine.
VIT Library’s online tool allows customers to self-set a wake word and voice commands using simple text input, quickly eliminating the need for voice recordings. Other library features include:
- Support for different microphone topologies (no tuning required)
- Extensive vocabulary available for the text to be modeled
- Voice activity detection to minimize processing load during silent periods without speech
- English and Chinese support
For use with supported NXP devices, VIT software streamlines the implementation of reliable on-device voice control by providing a flexible software solution that can be customized for specific applications. It is available royalty-free on multiple device platforms, including those based on Arm Cortex-M7, Arm Cortex-M33, Cadence Xtensa HiFi 4 and Cadence Fusion F1 cores.
The free VIT software is delivered as a ready-to-use library in the MCUXpresso SDK, an open source software development kit. The online training tool is available here.
