Robotics software company Wandelbots raises $84M Series C led by Insight Partners

Wandelbots’ no-code approach takes automation to the next level by allowing app experts to independently teach their bots and become bot experts without the need for coding skills. The company’s easy-to-use teaching solution – Wandelbots Teaching – removes the barrier to programming robots with easy-to-use software interfaces, and the hardware-independent software platform enables the same interface for all robots . By making robotics simple and accessible to application experts, Wandelbots makes it easy for companies large and small to work with robots in their workshops.

Wandelbots state-of-the-art platform is used by several leading robot manufacturers and OT system integrators. Universal Robots & Yaskawa’s robots at customers like BMW, VW, Fraunhofer, Schaeffler, Rotop, and Vitesco run on Wandelbots, and the company has partnered with systems integrators across Europeincluding Gibas, Alumotion, Heidenbluth and Sojka.

Wandelbots will use the new funding to open up its robotics software platform to automation solution providers and third-party developers to build a compelling developer community. The openness will allow developers to create their own robotic applications on top of a manufacturer-independent control plane. Wandelbots also plans to use the funding to scale its flagship education solution to support more bots, applications and regions around the world, expand its global footprint, accelerate hiring and to create marketing organizations in the United States and Asia.

Christian PiechnickCEO and co-founder of Wandelbots, said: “I am very proud to see Wandelbots’ mission become a reality. Our platform will help accelerate human-centered robotic solutions in industry. We look forward to working with Insight Partners and looking forward to seeing what developers create in the future based on our transformative technology.”

Philine HuizingPrincipal at Insight Partners, who will join the Wandelbots Board of Directors, says: “One of the biggest challenges we see in adopting robotics and increased automation, from a time, cost and talent perspective, is programming robots. Wandelbots dramatically streamlines robot programming. robots at OEMs and manufacturers using a platform approach. Their impressive manufacturing partnerships and strong technical team has made Wandelbots a benchmark in the industry. Wandelbots long-term vision is to be the plan control platform for the massively complex and fragmented robotics ecosystem. We look forward to partnering with the Wandelbots team as they continue to grow and realize their vision of democratizing the robotics market.”
