Nottingham software company launches powerful new tool to help reduce NHS waiting lists in 2022

Tedious hospital paperwork could be a thing of the past thanks to a Nottingham firm offering much-needed hope to health officials seeking to reduce Covid waiting lists.

Castle Gate-based healthcare software company Trisoft is launching a powerful new tool, AQUA theatreman, which streamlines patient journeys and provides vital information to hospital staff.

The comprehensive design tool is based on Trisoft’s existing theatreman software, already in use in some hospitals. It frees staff from the burden of paperwork, allowing them to manage both patients and resources much more efficiently – and get more people treated in a day.

With the British Medical Association (BMA) reporting a record NHS England waiting list of 5.98 million in October, the tool is likely to be welcomed by many hospital trusts trying to get patients seen faster in 2022 and beyond.

Jane Woolford, who uses theatreman at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Since East Kent University NHS Foundation Trust introduced theatreman, processes have improved dramatically, streamlining theater operations where previously paper-based systems were in place.

“Despite operating in a Covid environment, issue resolution is quick once an issue is assigned to a technician, contact is made and resolution is usually achieved on the call.”

Dominic Claxton, Customer Success Manager at Trisoft AQUA theatreman, said: “We are proud to launch our new AQUA theatreman software in 2022 – the perfect time to help hospitals still hard hit by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. 19 on the waiting lists.

“Additionally, by working both on the internet cloud and through a hospital’s own systems, AQUA theatreman is helping the NHS achieve its digital goals, which will in turn help reduce carbon emissions.

“We are passionate about helping to make healthcare in this country the best in the world and we hope that with its intelligent planning capabilities, our AQUA theatreman software can play its part in achieving these goals.

“Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the world has seen how doctors, nurses, porters, managers and all hospital staff have been under pressure to deal with this terrible situation. Hopefully the AQUA theater man can start making things a little easier in 2022 and beyond.

The AQUA theatreman system can be used on a mobile device, tablet or desktop computer and offers hospital staff the ability to digitally process a patient’s journey from ward to operating room. The goal is to help busy hospital surgery departments get patients in and out more efficiently, with features like booking slots and up-to-date dashboards showing every step of the surgical process.

The software also gives hospital staff a range of other information at their fingertips, including waiting lists for different services and the equipment that will be needed for each surgery. This allows them to see which patients are ready to leave which rooms, as well as review previous days’ activity and filter specific information.
