Microsoft Power Platform certification allowing young Pakistani girls to become software application developers
Microsoft, the world leader in software, allowed young girls to enter the field of software application development. The Microsoft Power platform has made it easy even for elementary school students who want to develop custom apps as needed. Power Platform is ideally suited for automating core business processes with Power Automat, performing data analysis with Power BI, building simple Power Apps experiences, and building convenient chatbots with Power Virtual Agents. Due to their friendly nature, two 10-year-old Pakistani twins, Zara and Zenubia, have become the youngest to have the certification and the youngest pair in the world to pass the Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals certification. Their journey towards developing apps with little to no coding knowledge began with adopting a growth mindset and encouraged creative expression and self-discovery from an early age.
The twin sister’s success story begins, when the two were exposed to the Microsoft Learn platform which included apps and resources that would lead them to create their very first Microsoft Power Platform app, an expense tracker. that reads data from an Excel spreadsheet and helps users create a budget. Their father boosted their interest in software as he was forced to work from home during the COVID-19 lockdown. They started to discover software from there and learned basic programming on their own. Even after resuming their studies, they continued to develop their interest in programming and began to reproduce applications by gaining web experience in their spare time and creating expense management solutions for their father. .
The Microsoft Power platform is one of the world’s leading platforms for low-code applications and business intelligence, and a pillar of Microsoft’s cloud offering. The platform is widely used around the world as the most efficient way to develop custom software applications and transform the way people solve real life problems using technology. The Power Platform certification is for people who want to build solutions for their organizations using Microsoft Power Platform. It enables individuals to automate business processes, perform data analysis and integrate artificial intelligence to create new solutions.
Microsoft Education Lead for Pakistan, Mr. Jibran said, “Microsoft believes in empowering people of all ages to be the best they can be in terms of creativity and innovative solutions with the help of technology. Microsoft has a long history of nurturing creative minds by providing user-friendly technology platforms that are easy to use even at a young age. Microsoft continues to search for smart solutions that have been adopted quickly to prepare the next generation of technology experts ”.
However, these exceptionally highly intellectual girls were not the first Pakistani women to achieve such great success at a very young age, but Arfa Karim was only nine years old when she became the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) in the world. She was also the youngest recipient of the Pride of Performance award in Pakistan and her name was listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
