PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A local software company celebrates its 40th anniversary by giving back to the community.

They will reward 40 teachers with $ 1,000 for the purchase of tools to provide students with hands-on experience in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects.
“We’ve had this business for all of these years and we certainly appreciate the teachers,” said owners Dave and Christine Vernier. “This is meant to be a thank you to the teachers who I think feel downright underrated in teaching in remote and hybrid situations, which has been very difficult for the teachers. “
Vernier is also a partner of OMSI. Together, they will provide 40 low-income schools in the region with the opportunity to visit the museum in person or meet virtually as part of OMSI’s outreach education program.
