IBM acquisitions and exits
IBM has acquired more than 20 companies since Arvind Krishna became CEO of the company. Other recent IBM acquisitions include Nordcloud, SXiQ, Taos, and BoxBoat. These deals essentially position IBM Consulting against Accenture and possibly even Kyndryl, the recent spin-off of IBM’s managed infrastructure services.
In addition to the Kyndryl spin-off, IBM sold some assets. For example, Harris acquired IBM’s i2 intelligence analytics product portfolio in January 2022. Then IBM could look to sell its ailing Watson Health division. The asking price for the losing company would be $ 1 billion.
