Anaglyph unveils version 5 of the Laminate Tools software application

Anaglyph Ltd. (London, UK) has released version 5 (see “Anaglyph releases Laminate Tools version 4.10”) of Laminate Tools, a stand-alone Windows software application that integrates the design, analysis, and fabrication of composite structures. Along with the addition of several important features, a number of foundational technologies have been introduced behind the scenes to improve efficiency and set the stage for important future changes.

For example, the underlying data engine has been redeveloped, so that the storage and manipulation of data is done according to the current requirements of composite designers. This enhancement maximizes efficiency when applying simulations or collecting information for graphical presentation or export.

Likewise, Anaglyph points to the 3D model graphics engine, which has been completely rewritten to support the latest OpenGL standard, taking advantage of advanced graphics hardware capabilities and dramatically extending product life.

The graphical user interface (GUI) has also been completely redesigned. Application windows can now be floating, docked, tabbed, grouped or hidden, providing a custom screen layout that further improves productivity, while legacy layouts are possible for a smoother transition.

Key recently added features include an interactive all-fold edit window for easy overall design changes; a 2D section view; and the introduction of a proprietary, binary and efficient file format (.LT). A full list of new features is available at The Anaglyph site.

Laminate Tools deals with the entire process of structural design of composites (import of geometry, design, analysis, control and manufacture). It links the different disciplines, communicates original data between all the actors
the process and focuses on saving users’ time. Rolling tools interface with most CAD and FEA applications, enabling flexible workflow. It is used by designers of composite structures and stress analysts in the automotive, aerospace, marine, energy and leisure end markets.
